The Perfect Places for a Digital Vacation

A few short years ago, the thought of being able to log in to a city across the globe and watch the population’s every move would have seemed absurd. In order to view the happenings of a city, you would have had to travel there and see it with your own eyes. This is no longer the case.

If you want to travel to San Francisco, Boston, or anywhere in between, all you need is an internet connection and the click of a few buttons. Live cameras are becoming increasingly popular in the tech surveillance world – and the best part is, they’re free and available to the public.

Whether you want to catch a breathtaking skyline, famous landmark, or wild animal, you can do all of the above from the comfort of your couch. But exactly which cities get the most attention?

Most Viewed Camera: Bourbon Street

As one of the most buzzing streets in America, it’s no surprise the Bourbon Street is the most viewed live stream. This camera has raked in over 80 million views, stealing the hearts and eyes of America with it’s fast-paced and lively spirit.

While a flight to the deep South to attend Mardi Gras may cost you a high dollar, you can feel like you’re in the heart of the party without spending a single penny. Plus, there’s no need to worry about dealing with the crowds and the heat when you’re enjoying the festivities through your computer screen.

Runner Up: Times Square

The next most-viewed camera in the US is found in Times Square, NYC. This live cam has earned about 63 million views of those who want a piece of the action. Pull up this camera along with some online shopping and you’ll feel just like you’re in the Big Apple, no matter where you really are. Each day, this city draws approximately 340,000 pedestrians – so you never know who you’ll see on this cam.

Coming in Third: Miami

While less viewed than NYC or Bourbon Street, the Miami News Cafe is the third most-watched camera in the nation with about 24 million views. This cafe, nestled in the heart of Miami Beach, prides itself on being open 24-hours and one of the best people-watching viewing atmospheres in the state. With such a prime location, they couldn’t keep their views to themselves so they launched a live cam that takes any tourist beach side.

No matter where you want to go, there’s probably a cam that will take you there. While it may not be the same as packing your bags and jet-setting across the globe, these live streams won’t break the bank while you’re saving up for that perfect getaway.
