There’s no better way to spend your evening than in the stands cheering on your favorite team.

Whether you’re into the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, or all of the above, there’s no denying that going to a game is a key ingredient in every sports fan’s recipe for the perfect night out.

But what else does that recipe entail? Well, let’s just say if you’re able to find some delicious local eats and pre-game drinks too, you might never want the night to end.

Here’s how to have the perfect night out on game-day.

Dinner

It can be tricky to find good eats when you’re in an area you’re not familiar with. Nevertheless, it’s important to think about where you’d like to eat in advance, as to avoid aimlessly wandering around town, only to find restaurants with lines out the door.

The good news is, most cities big enough to house NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB teams, have a plethora of wonderful dining options too! Craving a pre-game burger? Why not check to see if a local burger joint made the 101 Best burgers in america list? Or, if you’d rather carb-up with a bowl of pregame pasta, why not explore the local Italian cuisine? But if if you’re an indecisive eater and aren’t quite sure what you’re craving, you could use Tripadvisor to find the perfect place to grab a bite.

Drinks

Now, let’s say you had a late lunch and are just looking to grab a quick drink before the game. Well, you’re in luck. Cities with major sports teams typically have a variety of great bars and breweries to choose from. If you find yourself in Boston for a Red Sox game, you should give Harpoon Brewery or Trillium Brewing Company a try. Or, if you’re more of a football fan and find yourself in Charlotte for a Panthers game, be sure to try The Broken Spoke or The Cotton Room.

But regardless of what city you’re in, you can use Yelp to find the perfect spot for pre-game drinks.

Game

Your whole night has been building up to this very moment. As you walk into the stadium with a full stomach, and more importantly, a full heart, you’re reminded why you shelled out so much money for these tickets. The smell of excitement and camaraderie is wafting through the air and your only job for the evening is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.

Before the game has even ended, though, you whip out your phone to search for tickets to the next one. But who can blame you? Like delicious home-cooked meals, some nights are just too perfect to turn down seconds.
