For Generation Z, building relationships, finding affordable apartments, and getting jobs is perhaps the most important next step. These young faces are stepping out into the world and exploring new possibilities and while some of them are too young to even spell words, many are between the ages of 18-24 and ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.
The researchers at TYE Medical wanted to explore the 50 most populous metropolitan areas to discover the best cities for people to live in based on their age. For some, this means the best healthcare availability, and for others, it means where the most young people reside.

1. Salt Lake City, UT (City Score: 20 Points)
The Utah capital is getting a lot of love with a whopping 20 out of 25 possible points. With almost 22% of the population comprised of Gen Zers, you’ll find it easy to build relationships in this city of spectacular views.
2. Riverside, CA (City Score: 18.10 points)
Look no further than Riverside for an explosion of part-time jobs you’re going to love. And what’s better than a short drive away from the Pacific Ocean. Soak up the sun, enjoy tasty restaurants, and meet up with friends in this beautiful California city.
3. Atlanta, GA. (City Score: 18 points)
With plenty of fellow Gen Zers and some of the most affordable one-bedroom apartment prices, Atlanta is a great option for those who want to explore the East Coast.
4. Hartford, CT (City Score: 17.50 points)
If you’re looking to live your Gilmore Girl fantasy, Hartford is your next big move! The salty air, the New England vibes, the small, yet just big enough city skyline—Ugh, this city is a dream! Hartford is home to many Gen Zers, and many part-time job oppurtunities. Maybe you just might land a barista gig and find yourself a Dean in this quaint capital.
5. Boston, MA (City Score: 17.10 points)
Another New England city made the top five list, and this time Massachusetts is getting some love. Between the shorelines of Cape Cod, and the vibrant-sport obsessed state capital, look no further than Boston to satisfy your wanderlust. Although one-bedrooms might be on the pricey side, being around a city full of youth and adventure can be worth the cost!
