Chances are that most of the people you drive around are idiots (or at least that’s what it feels like). From random traffic to drivers ignoring road signs, there are plenty of actions drivers take that infuriate us. Driving around big cities is probably one of the worst experiences, as congestion is unthinkable and people are eager to get to work on time or make it home after a long workday.
Everybody seems to consider that their city or state is actually the worst state to drive in, but what evidence do they have to back that? Sure, there are cities with more traffic than others, but that doesn’t count the amount of people who really don’t know how to drive. To see what cities we consider to be some of the worst to drive in, keep on reading.
Miami, Florida
Florida is truly something else. When driving in Florida, you’ll hear plenty about how awful drivers are from anybody who’s been near a road. Miami, as beautiful as it is, is truly a nightmare to drive in. Not only do you have the risk of people not knowing where they’re going, but also the rude antics of those who own vehicles worth more than your house (and believe me, there are plenty of them).
Washington, D.C.
Personally, I only have experience driving through D.C. on my family road trips up north from when I was young (and no, it wasn’t pretty). In addition to the normal array of awful drivers, by driving in D.C., you also have to deal with political stuff. Roads get blocked off all the time to let important people pass through, making navigation around the city a ruckus. Obviously, the traffic is bad too, but that’s to be expected from the capital city.
Los Angeles, California
If you’ve seen pictures of Los Angeles traffic during the holidays, then you know just how scary the experience may be. It feels like there are a million cars on the road (and, just so you know, there are actually over 7 million) and getting to your destination seems like an impossible feat. If you can avoid driving in this area, do it. Even when it’s not a holiday, the traffic is still terrible. Opt for public transportation if you can. Los Angeles doesn’t need any more cars.
There are plenty more cities that can be considered one of the worst cities to drive in — these are just a few. Remember, you aren’t going to get anywhere faster by driving recklessly. You may only hurt yourself or others in the process, and that isn’t worth being late. Safe driving!
